These $1000 scholarships are offered each year to graduating high school students from the school districts of Door County. The four recipients are: Molly Hall from Southern Door High School; Braden Evers from Sturgeon Bay High School; Lauren Bertges from Gibraltar High School, and Noah Adler from Bridges Virtual Academy. Congratulations students!

Molly Hall, plans to pursue a career in science and research focused on environmental conservation. She will be attending the University of New England in Biddleford, Maine, majoring in Marine sciences and Marine biology. She hopes to bring that all back home and apply it to Door County.

Braden Evers has been accepted to Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He plans to pursue a double major in Environmental Studies and Sustainability. He plans to carry with him “a promise to turn gratitude into action and ambition into restoration” as inspired by the beauty of Door County. He wishes to protect the communities and ecosystems that have shaped his life up to the present day.

Lauren Bertges will be attending the University of Wisconsin–Madison and will be majoring in Pharmacology and Toxicology. Lauren loves to be outdoors hiking or swimming or just enjoying the outdoors and nature. She has had the opportunity to experience the contrasting environments in the desert southwest state of New Mexico and here in northeast Wisconsin.

Noah Adler has been accepted into Lakeland University Life and Career Studies program. As president of the high school Ecology Club, he has shown strong leadership skills and deep commitment to environmental issues. His induction to the National Honor Society is a testament to his scholastic achievements and character. His role as the founder of “United Against Hate” initiative displays his moral courage and dedication to creating a more inclusive community.

We wish all of our recipients of the DCEC/DPO Scholarship awards the best of luck in their exceptionally bright futures.
