Community Wind Energy LLC of Door County orginated as a DCEC project of our Renewable Energy Task Force. CWE is working to promote community friendly, good-neighbor policy wind energy resources in Door County.

CWE's John Hippensteel Wins State Award June 2008— John Hippensteel, owner of Lake Michigan Wind and Sun in rural Sturgeon Bay was recently named "Market Provider of the Year" by Wisconsin Focus on Energy's  Renewalbe Energy Program. Hippensteel, a public engineer,  is a world-recognized expert in the field of renewable energies with speciailizations in solar and wind energy. The award was presented to a surprised Hippensteel at this year's Midwest Renewable Energy Fair.
