notification from Freshwater Future,
one of our national partners.... this is a Very Serious Issue. Please
Read and Take Action!
Urgent Action Alert:
Yesterday we learned that the Corps has detected DNA evidence of Asian Carp ABOVE the electric barriers in the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, the Cal-Sag Channel and the Calumet River. That means the fish could be within 6 miles of Lake Michigan with only navigational locks standing in their way. Once in the Great Lakes, it is believed Asian Carp could wipe out our Great Lakes fisheries as we know them forever.
Please take a moment to make a handful of important calls today to stop the Asian carp from invading the Great Lakes. Our political leaders need to take aggressive action and we as constituents need to tell them that THIS IS AN EMERGENCY.
1. Call your member of Congress AND the Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and urge them to:

lead to Lake Michigan.
- Tell the Corps to take any
and all monitoring and control efforts to keep the Asian carp at bay
and the Great Lakes safe.
